German is the language of science, as many scientists have studied in countries where German is spoken and is the second most commonly used language in areas such as chemistry, physics and engineering. Moreover, 18% of all books in all areas worldwide are written in German.
The German language is the mother tongue among the first residents of the European Union and is a working language in EU institutions. The role of the EU strengthened after the countries of Eastern Europe, where German is the main language in terms of presence in the educational system and in terms of number of speakers as a foreign language. In some countries (eg Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland) German taught in more and more students.
German is a highly accessible language for the Greek-speaking student. Has documentary proved that the German language has many similarities with the Greek. German exhibit features in common with our language to the structure of grammar and syntax and in thinking.
